Care Tips:
Light: Aloe Vera prefers bright indirect sunlight. Be careful of placing it in direct sunlight as it can burn the leaves or turn them yellow. If the Aloe is not getting enough sunlight it will start to grow ‘leggy’ and should be placed in an area with better sun exposure.
Water: Water more, less often. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings but water deeply when you do. To test if your Aloe needs to be watered, stick your finger in the top two inches of the soil. If it is dry, go ahead and water it, if it is still damp, wait a little longer.
Soil: Aloe Vera is a succulent, so they need soil that is well-draining. Sandy soil or cactus mix can give them the proper drainage. Make sure to plant in a container with at least one drainage hole in the bottom.
Fun Facts:
- With proper care your aloe vera will produce orange, yellow, or red flowers at the end of its leaves.
- During the warmer months you can place your Aloe Vera outside, just make sure to bring it inside for the night if it is going to be cold.
